What Exactly Is inner child regression?
Inner Child Regression Hypnosis reconnects you with the younger parts of yourself that had to make sense of life long before you had the tools to do it. Those early experiences shaped how you learned to stay safe, avoid pain, and earn love or approval. The strategies you developed were not weaknesses—they were intelligent survival responses.
For some people, those early years included neglect, emotional wounds, or different forms of abuse. When experiences like that happen, the mind adapts the only way it knows how. You may learn to stay quiet, become hyper-aware of other people’s moods, try to be perfect, disappear emotionally, or constantly scan for danger.
If love felt conditional, you may have learned to be perfect.
If conflict felt unsafe, you may have learned to stay quiet or disappear.
If attention came through achievement, you may have learned to overperform.
If criticism was common, you may have learned to constantly scan for danger or disapproval.
At the time, these responses help you survive the environment you are in. But the subconscious mind does not automatically update those strategies as life changes. What once protected you can quietly continue running in the background, influencing how you react, relate to others, trust people, or see yourself.
Inner Child work helps identify those early survival patterns and reconnect with the parts of you that created them. During the session, you may revisit certain moments from the past—not to stay stuck in them, but to change how they are held in the mind. From the awareness and safety you have now, you can give that younger part of yourself what was missing at the time: support, protection, understanding, or reassurance.
When those parts of you finally receive what they needed, the mind no longer has to rely on the same outdated survival strategies.
This process helps release old patterns so you can move forward with more clarity, emotional balance, and a stronger sense of safety within yourself.

I hold the fear of being wrong, of being not enough. I’ve built walls, habits, and routines that made sense back then. I’m still here, quietly steering the ship, even if the captain thinks I’m obsolete.
Emotional Abuse Wounds the Inner Child
Harsh criticism, yelling, sarcasm, or constant negative comments from parents, caretakers, or other adults can deeply wound a child’s sense of self. Sometimes the damage comes through words that are shouted or spoken with anger. Other times it appears through sarcasm, ridicule, insults, or name-calling. These messages can leave a child feeling ashamed, small, or fundamentally “wrong.”
Not all emotional abuse is spoken.
A child can also receive powerful negative messages through body language and facial expressions. Angry stares, scowls, “crazy eyes,” dismissive gestures, or adults walking away in frustration can communicate hostility, rejection, or abandonment. Children are extremely sensitive to these signals.
When emotional needs are ignored, dismissed, or never met, the child often concludes something painful about themselves:
I’m not important.
I’m not lovable.
Something must be wrong with me.
To survive, children adapt.
They may become invisible.
They may try to be perfect.
They may become people pleasers.
They may play small, stay quiet, or work constantly for approval.
These coping strategies may help them get through childhood. But in adulthood, the same patterns often turn into anxiety, self-doubt, relationship struggles, and self-sabotaging behavior.

I’m the part that keeps score of every look, every word, every pullback of love. I overcompensate, I people-please, I chase approval—but I’m just trying to survive the rules I was handed.
Sexual Abuse Harms the Inner Child
Sexual abuse occurs when an adult—or sometimes an older child—violates a child’s boundaries through inappropriate touching, sexualized comments, suggestive behavior, or exposure to sexual material.
These actions violate a child’s innocence and sense of safety. The impact can be profound and long lasting.
Children often feel confusion, shame, guilt, disgust, or deep self-blame. They may struggle with feelings of unworthiness or develop difficulty forming a healthy sense of identity and sexuality later in life.
I learned early that being quiet kept me safe. I shrink, I hide, I freeze—but I’m still doing the best I know. I’m the part that remembers, even when the world pretends it doesn’t exist.

How Does Inner Child Hypnosis Work?
During your session, you are gently guided into a deeply relaxed and focused state through hypnosis. You are not asleep and not unconscious. You remain aware, able to speak, and fully in control throughout the session.
The relaxed state simply allows us to access deeper layers of the subconscious mind.
Inner Child work allows the adult version of you to provide the compassion, protection, and reassurance that may not have been available at the time.
Once in this state you reconnect with the younger part of yourself. You explore the emotions and experiences connected to that time. You offer support and understanding to your younger self. You release emotional weight and restore balance.
As emotions are acknowledged and processed, the nervous system begins to settle. This helps reduce the intensity of old emotional responses.
Throughout the entire process, you remain fully aware and in full control, able to pause, slow down, or stop at any time. The purpose of Inner Child hypnosis is emotional resolution, self-understanding, and healing. You are fully present, speaking and experiencing the process alongside your guide.
Always with the goal of forgiving and releasing the negative emotions tied to the experiences.

I’m the child who learned to disappear
when storms hit, who learned to be perfect to get a nod, to be invisible to avoid blame. I’m still here, whispering old instructions in the back of your mind.
Signs You May Benefit from Inner Child Hypnosis
You might consider Inner Child work if certain patterns in your life keep showing up and you can’t quite figure out why.
Sometimes reactions feel bigger than the situation itself. You might get overwhelmed, shut down, or feel hurt in ways that don’t seem to match what’s happening in the moment.
Other times it shows up as patterns that keep repeating, like:
-
Strong emotional reactions that leave you drained or confused
-
Feeling rejected, abandoned, or not valued more often than you’d like
-
Struggling to fully trust people or feel emotionally safe in relationships
-
Trying too hard to please others or feeling like you have to be perfect
-
Doubting your worth or feeling like your confidence disappears under pressure
-
Finding the same relationship dynamics or self-sabotaging patterns happening again and again
When this happens, it’s often because parts of you learned certain ways of coping a long time ago. Those responses helped you get through difficult situations back then, but they can still be running quietly in the background now.
Inner Child work helps you reconnect with the part of you that learned those patterns. From the awareness you have today, you can begin to understand what that younger part of you went through and offer them what they needed but didn’t receive at the time—support, protection, reassurance, and the understanding that they were never meant to handle those experiences alone.
This process isn’t about blaming the past. It’s about understanding it and resolving what was left unfinished.

I’m still here. I’m the part that learned how to survive when nobody was listening.
I carry the fear, the rules, the coping tricks that kept me safe back then.
I may overthink, freeze, or push too hard—but that’s just me, still navigating the world with what I had.

What Happens After a Session?
Everyone’s response differs. Some feel energized, clear, and empowered, while others may need rest or reflection. Physical sensations, fatigue, or emotional release can occur for a short period. Aftercare includes rest, hydration, and integration of insights.
I remember every time I felt unseen, unheard, unprotected. I keep the survival scripts running, the habits, the anxieties, the patterns—because I learned long ago that this is how you stay alive.
